J Capri Died Two Years Ago Today, Foundation Launch Set For January

Today marks two years since the passing of J Capri.

The Dancehall entertainer died on December 4, 2015 after she was hospitalised for more than a week following a motor vehicle crash, she was 23-years-old.

The ‘Wine and Kotch’ singer, real name Jordan Phillips,  was travelling on November 23, 2015 in the Barbican area of St Andrew about 3:00 am when she reportedly lost control of the car she was driving, which slammed into a wall.

Since the passing of J Capri her family has strived to keep her legacy alive through various means including a sponsorship foundation.

The J Capri foundation has already donated funds to selected students at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts where the artist studied music. It also rewarded primary level students who succeeded in the Grade Six Achievement Test examination with monetary scholarships.

The formal introduction of the foundation to the public and the launch the official website is set for January 2018.
