Koffee is feeling the love following her return to Jamaica.
On Monday the Grammy-winning reggae artist was given a hero’s welcome as she arrived on the island.
It was Koffee’s first trip back to Jamaica since winning the Best Reggae Album award in Los Angeles last week.
Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange officially welcomed the star as she departed her flight.
Grange greeted the star as she arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Monday.
“I’m really very happy to welcome Koffee home after she made history as the first female solo reggae artiste to win the Grammy,” Grange said, adding “I’m as excited as when I was Shabba Ranks’ manager and we won the Grammy. I feel so good about Koffee’s success.”
Grange could not contain her delight as she expressed that the star’s victory was just in time for Reggae Month.
Grange says she feels vindicated by the star’s historic win, after previously highlighting her as one for the future.
Back In December 2017, Grange selected Koffee to perform at the unveiling of Usain Bolt’s statue at the National Stadium
“She performed for Usain Bolt and, for the first time, had major exposure at the national level [and] the rest is history. She has just moved from success to success and what is so beautiful about her — she’s young, she’s bright, and she’s humble,” said Grange.
Following a press briefing, Koffee later met up with Prime Minister Andrew Holness at Jamaica House. Holness took to social media to share a photo of his meeting while praising the star on her achievements.
“I am extremely proud of Koffee’s historic achievement; having someone as youthful and creative as her with such powerful melodies that are appealing to everyone is impeccable for our music and culture. Congratulations Koffee! I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Keep it burning!” Holness said.
