Vybz Kartel was snubbed by this year’s Your View Awards, formerly known as Youth View Awards and we are finally getting to know the real reason why.
The nominees were announced on Thursday at the official launch of the 2018 YVA’s at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel and the incarcerated Dancehall superstar’s name was noticeably absent. The “Fever” deejay’s inability to meet the event’s new qualifying criteria, has been given as the reason for the prolific artist’s non-appearance on the list of nominees.
According to organizers, all nominees, among other rules, must be able to perform live at the awards show.

Vybz Kartel, who was last year’s biggest winner scooped five awards, namely: Male Local Artiste of the Year; Dancehall Artiste; Hottest Summer Song Fever; and Local Chart Topping Song of the Year Fever, as well as Musical Collaboration for Loodi done with Shensea.
Already, the Gaza Nation has taken to social media to air their anger and disapproval at the World Boss’ snub.
