Gunmen Attack Dancehall Artiste, Vehicle Sprayed With Bullets

Up-and-coming Dancehall artiste Influential is the victim of another attack.

The deejay will be beefing up his security after unknown assailants fired eight shots into the car he was travelling in on Tuesday morning.

Influential says he was on his way to August Town when he discovered another vehicle was trailing him. In an attempt to ditch the suspects, he changed his route, however that seemingly forced their hands and they opened fire.

Influential has filed over four police reports following the release of his new single, “Pon Di Live” last month.

Known for his social commentary, Influential on the track took a few jabs at several industry players including Foota Hype, Mr. Vegas, I-Octane, LA Lewis, Jada Kingdom, Macka Diamond and many more over their obsession with social media.

The deejay revealed that since the release of “Pon Di Live” he has been bullied on several occasions. Few weeks ago he went jogging and later found the windscreen of his motor vehicle smashed and four tyres slashed.

While all incidents were reported to the police station and now an investigation into the shooting is now under way, Influential believes the law enforcement officers cannot do it alone and has sought the media’s assistance.

The entertainer says he wants the decent citizens of Jamaica to understand that he is being targeted and hopes that with more eyes on his situation, the perpetrators would be forced to leave him alone.
