Gully Bop will learn his fate in the coming weeks.

The controversial Dancehall entertainer’s assault trial ended last week in the St Thomas Parish Court and the verdict will be issued in September.

Last year June, the 57-year-old Wuk Affi Mi deejay was arrested and charged after his wife, Deborrah Nicholson, made report at the Morant Bay Police Station.

Nicholson says Gully Bop, whose real name is Robert Malcolm, hit her in her face during a dispute causing swelling and pain at their residence in Nuts River District, St Thomas.

During the trial, Gully Bop represented himself, and denied the assault charge laid against him.

Judge Luciana Ramsey-Jackson will be handing down her verdict in the case on September 27. Gully Bop’s $40,000 bail was extended.
