Grenada Prime Minister very proud of Kirani James

Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell says that he is proud of Kirani James second place finish in the men’s 400m finals.

James claimed the silver medal in the mens 400m at the Rio Olympic games, after South African Wayde van Niekerk won in a World Record time.

“Kirani gave his heart in this race and we are proud of the fact that he gave his best. We have to accept the fact that the South African performed well and to set a new world record is a clear indication of the pace of this race, Kirani would have done the best time he has ever done and don’t’ forget the fact that he is only 23, he has a long time,” said Dr Mitchell.

The Prime Minister reassured that the beloved athlete will be honoured, upon his return to his homeland.
