Former Third World Member Carrot Jarret’s Funeral Set For Wednesday

The funeral service for former Third World percussionist Irvin “Carrot” Jarrett will be held this Wednesday, August 8, at the Webster Memorial Church, 53 Half-Way-Tree Road in St Andrew, starting at 2:00 pm.

The musician, who was also a dancer, reiki healer, and health and wellness practitioner, died on Wednesday after he was rushed to to the Andrews Memorial hospital, having been found unresponsive at his St Andrew home. He was 69.

The family has asked that there be no floral arrangements and that guests wear cheerful colours in celebration of his life.

Jarrett joined Third World one year after it was formed, and was part of the classic line-up for a decade. He played on several of the band’s biggest hit songs including 96° In The Shade and Now That We Found Love. William “Bunny Rugs” Clarke, part of that line-up, died in 2014. He is credited, along with Cooper, as co-writers of their smash hit Always Around. He parted ways with his bandmates in 1984.

Jarrett is survived by five children and widow Alisia.
