Foota Hype

Foota Hype has been moved to a new holding facility in Florida.

Foota Hype is still in custody 90 days after he was detained by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The popular Jamaican disc jock remains in custody but has been moved to a new holding facility. He was recently relocated from the Krome Service Processing Center to the Broward Transitional Center (BTC).

The facility, which is located in Pompano Beach, Florida, houses illegal immigrants and other “non-criminal and low-security detainees.” It also provides shelter for new immigrants seeking asylum or residency.

Foota Hype was detained on December 14, 2019, on arriving at Port Everglades Seaport in Ft Lauderdale. He had was aboard the Independence of the Seas cruise, which was traveling from Falmouth, Jamaica.

In December a Florida judge dismissed the case against the controversial disc jock but he still remained in custody.

According to reports, Foota’s legal team requested to remain in custody to resolve his overall immigration concerns.

Sources say Foota’s travel documents, which had which allowed him temporary entry had expired. In addition, the selector’s marriage to an American woman was reportedly dissolved before he was issued his green card.

Foota Hype’s last court hearing was on January 20, 2020. It is unclear when he will return to court.
