Five cops accused in Alpha girl shooting to face ID parade

The police five police officers who are accused of shooting and injuring a Convent of Mercy Academy student last week are set to face an identification parade on Friday.

According to reports, the 15-year-old student was shot and injured during a high speed chase involving a ‘robot taxi’ operator and cops on Thursday. The incident reportedly occurred along Mark Lane, in downtown Kingston.

It is alleged that cops signaled the unauthorized taxi driver to stop, however when he failed to do so several shots were reportedly fired. The teen was then discovered to have been shot in her head and was taken to hospital.

Following investigations from the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) it was revealed that the five cops were attached to the mobile reserve division, and they had been arrested in relation to the incident.

The child has reportedly underwent emergency surgery at the Kingston Public Hospital and is recovering.
