Several female entertainers are set to be recognized at this year’s FemFest awards.

This year organizers of FemFest will be highlighting women in the music industry and entrepreneurs under the theme ‘Boss Babes’.

The awards will be staged at Kingston 10 Sports Bar and Grill on Friday, just days before International Women’s Day.

Leading the awardees is veteran Dancehall superstar Macka Diamond, who will receive the FemFest Lifetime Achievement in Music Award.

It will be the “Cucumber” deejay’s second nomination in two years after named in the category last year.

Other female entertainers set to be honoured include TVJ producer Sharon Schroeter, Pamputtae, and D’Angel. Pamputtae will receive The Women’s Empowerment Award, while D’Angel was selected the Fashionista of the Year.

This will be the second staging of the award ceremony after it was successfully launched in 2019.

According to Roxborough, best known as Sassydivva, the ceremony is significant as there not many of its kind.

“Having been in the industry for approximately 15 years, I realised there are a lot of women working really hard and it goes unnoticed. It was only right to create an official space to honour those who work 10 times as hard and give them a chance to show up and speak up,” Sassydivva told The STAR.

The ceremony will feature special performances by several of the awardees as well as Raine Seville and her daughter.
