Ex-Convict Held With Illegal Firearm In Trelawny

The Trelawny police have arrested a man in connection with an illegal firearm which was found at his home in Bamboo Spring.

According to the Ulster Spring police, a Browning 9mm pistol was discovered at the man’s premises during a search operation in the Bamboo Spring community at approximately 6:30 am this morning.

Cops say the man is labourer from the community who previously served a prison sentence for illegal possession of firearm. They also disclosed that the suspect was wanted as a person of interest by the St James police in connection with several shootings in that parish.

The man is expected to be questioned in the presence of his attorney later this week.
