Dancehall artiste Elephant Man is enjoying Billboard success once again after he teamed up with house music DJ/producer DJ Sultan for ‘Hips Sing’.

The single debuted at number 47 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart last week. ‘Hips Sing’ marks the third entry on the Dance chart for the once prolific dancehall artiste.  He was featured on Janet Jackson’s 2004 number one dance hit All Nite (Don’t Stop).  In 2007 again topped the chart with Kat Deluna on their collaborative hit Whine Up.

Between 2003 and 2009 Elephant Man racked up a string of hits on various Billboard charts.  On the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which is the main pop chart stateside, he scored two hits, 2003’s Pon De River, Pon De Bank which stalled at number 86. His biggest hit on that chart is 2004’s Jook Gal (Wine Wine) featuring Kip Rich which peaked at number 57.

On Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart he charted at number 15 in June 2004 with Jook Gal, while Pon De River, Pon De Bank reached number 19 in September 2003.

He had better luck on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart scoring six titles. Jook Gal reached number 20 in July 2004, while Pon De River, Pon De Bank got as far as number 29 in October 2003. Willie Bounce peaked at number 51 in January 2006, while Father Elephant hit number 66 in October 2005.

Signal De Plane flew to number 68 in January 2004, while Nuh Linga danced its way to number 84 in May 2009. DJ Sultan’s forthcoming project which includes Caribbean, Electro Pop and Latin Crossover styles, features Hips Sing.
