Elaine Thompson has broken her silence after winning gold in the women’s 100m finals Saturday in 10.71 seconds.
Thompson took to social media on Sunday to thank her family, fans, friends and team members.
“It is my first Olympic and it hasn’t finished yet but i want to take the time out to thank everyone who has supported me and believed in me. My family fans and friends. I steal the show last night by winning the 100m Gold and am really happy but it is time look forward on what is next. Also congrats to my fellow team members @realshellyannfp and@cheetahbby99 for playing their part and the rest for putting on this show because we all deserve to be in that line up last night. Once again thanks still put God first all the time,” She wrote.

She also took to Twitter where she paid tribute to Fraser-Pryce whom won Bronze, “I”m so honored to be following in the footsteps of someone I so greatly admire @realshellyannfp ,” she wrote.
