Elaine Thompson becomes first woman in 28-years to win gold in 100/200m at the same Olympics

Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson becomes the first woman since American Florence Griffith Joyner in 1988 to win gold in the 100-meter and 200-meter at the same Olympics.

Thomas took gold in the 200-meter finals on Wednesday with a season’s best time of 21.78 after winning the gold in the 100-meter on Saturday in 10.71 seconds.

She can make it a triple during the relay races Thursday and Friday.
