Elaine Thompson beats Schippers & Felix in Zurich

Jamaican Olympic champion Elaine Thompson continued her dominant form in the women’s 200m as she was victorious against a quality field in Zurich.

Thompson posted a new Diamond League record of 21.85 seconds seconds to win the women’s 200m at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Zurich.

She emerged victorious against a quality field which included world champion Daphne Schippers, Allyson Felix and fellow Jamaican Veronica Campbell-Brown.

Thompson had to claw back victory from Schippers, who had a lightning start from lane five over the opening 50 metres. The Dutch sprinter finished second with a seasons best 21.86 seconds. Allyson Felix finished third with a time of 22.02s.
