Drake Breaks Spotify Single-Day Streaming Records

Drake has broken Spotify’s single-day streaming record with his new song “God’s Plan,” according to Chart Data. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The song is from the Canadian Rapper’s new, two-song “Scary Hours” EP which received an amazing 4,326,679 streams this past Monday (Jan. 22) on U.S. Spotify. In celebration, Drake took to Instagram and also mentioned that his Cavs friend LeBron James earned a milestone of his own with his 30,000th career point. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The post featured a screenshot of the article that detailed his accomplishment, in addition to an animation highlighting James’ hard work underneath it. The Instagram post said, “Congrats King. Samesies.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This isn’t the first record the Toronto rapper has broken with Spotify. Last year in March, Drake became the first artist to be streamed 10 billion times. And in December 2016, he was Spotify’s most streamed artist for the second consecutive year.
