Dr. Dre & Ice Cube cleared in Suge Knight wrongful death lawsuit

Dr. Dre and Ice Cube have been cleared from a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of the man killed by Suge Knight last January.

The two Hip Hop legends were initially named in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against former Death Row CEO Suge Knight, in relation to the death of Terry Carter. Carter was killed after allegedly being mowed down, and run over by Knight.

The lawsuit had claimed that Ice Cube and Dre hired known gang members for security while filming the movie Straight Outta Compton. It further alleged that Carter was killed following a incident where one of these guards and Suge Knight got engaged in a altercation. Knight was allegedly forced to flee the scene, and run over Carter and another man in the process.

The lawyers representing Carter’s family had declared that “This lawsuit concerns the tragic tale of how reckless corporate greed, disguised as the quest for authenticity, [led] to a foreseeable altercation that resulted in the death of a successful businessman.”

However Dr. Dre and Ice Cube maintained their innocence and demanded their names be pulled from the lawsuit, claiming they “did not create undue risks for anyone, let alone Carter.”

A recent court ruling sided with the two Hip Hop legends, dismissing their names from the lawsuit according to TMZ reports. However Knight is still facing the lawsuit as well as murder charges.
