Disc Jockeys are infuriated with promoters and their excuses of not being able to pay them due to bad weather, inadequate marketing or substandard turnout.

They are requesting that promoters pay them in advance or devise a payment plan in the case of their event being unsuccessful, DJ Naz said that she expects her payment in advance unless she is headlining an event by corporate Jamaica. DJ Lux shared the same sentiments stating that he receives payment before attending any events which he has been booked for, he also added that promoters should implement proper marketing strategies to guarantee the success of their event so they will be able to cover their expenses.

However, a popular promoter within the entertainment fraternity said that sometimes promoters are only able to pay on the day after or the week after the event but the most crucial thing promoters should do is communicate with whomever they have employed so that they don’t have the view that they aren’t being compensated for their labour, he also added that promoters are obligated to honour their agreement with the DJ or artiste they have hired.
