Sean “Diddy” Combs has urged Americans to follow the life and teachings of Jamaican National Hero Marcus Mosiah Garvey.
Diddy took to his Instagram account on Thursday to pay homage to the political leader as the world celebrated the 130th anniversary of Garvey’s birth.
The Business mogul also used to opportunity to speak out following the violent events in Charlottesville, Virginia and US President Donald Trump’s response to the white supremacist rally.
“It’s very important that we know our history at this time. We have such a rich history. If you do not know who Marcus Garvey is, google him,” Diddy wrote.
“He’s somebody we should follow during these times. Our goal should be our economic independence!! Then we won’t need to worry about what anybody says. I pray I can be apart of showing my people the way to this goal!! Stay tuned!,” he added.
