News of Dancehall artiste Rygin King shooting incident has sent shock waves on social media.
The Montego Bay-based deejay whose given name is Matthew Smith, was among a group of persons who were shot after they left a funeral in Westmoreland.
A 28-year-old female was pronounced dead at hospital. Rygin King was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.
“The deejay’s car was shot up at about 3.15 pm. He is in critical condition. A female who was in the car died from her injuries,” a representatives of the Corporate Communications Unit, the police’s information arm said.
Several members of the Dancehall community including Vybz Kartel, Squash, Macka Diamond, Rvssian and Shab Don Records have been sending love to Rygin King online.
“Dont give up youth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All who believe in God send up a prayer fi rygin king please!,” Kartel wrote.
“Wull firm my bro gad jah jah deh yah fi you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏,” Squash said.
