Dancehall artiste Wasp has released two brand new singles after he was shot and injured last week.

The “Unfair Officer” singer was shot in the left arm by unknown assailant on Wednesday night in Cassia Park, St Andrew.

According to reports, Wasp whose given name is Marvin Clarke, was in the company of friends and hanging out at his mother’s house just before the 9pm curfew when he heard some shots and felt a stinging sensation in his left hand. 

“The shot fly through my hand but there are no broken bones. I saw a brown youth – the shooter – lift up and run away. I don’t know him.  I don’t know if it’s because my career ah rise or if is a man girl mi ah fool around with, but me and no man no have nothing or else mi wouldn’t leave myself careless ah road,” the deejay said.

Wasp who is now recuperating is also promoting his two singles “The Oath” and “My Soul”.

“Mi jus’ a focus on continuing this amazing work that I’m doing by releasing a lot of new music that I’m doing. I have no enemy, so I don’t know why such things happen,” he told the Jamaica Observer during an interview. “Mi jus’ a give thanks fi life fi know say the shot fly thru; no bone nuh break. God is good.”

“People have it say 2020 a di worse year, but me have it as the best year up until mi get shot; and it [the shooting] make me a change little bit, but 2020 was going to be mi best year,” he continued.
