Damian Marley Collaborates With Jay Z For Upcoming Project

Reggae superstar Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley has confirmed that he has worked on new music with rapper Jay Z during his recent visit to Jamaica.

The “Welcome To Jamrock” superstar recently confirmed speculations of a rumoured collaboration with the rapper during a interview with Billboard, saying they had in fact worked on some material during his recent visit to the island.

Marley was however quick to clarify that the material is not intended for his upcoming “Stony Hill” album, but rather for a future unspecified project for the New York rapper.

“Well, I did some work with him for some stuff that he’s working on. I’m not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together. I’ve been a fan of his music since he came out. We’ve never done any musical work together. So that was a joy to finally work together musically.”

The two have have a long standing business relationship together, as Marley is currently a co-owner in Jay Z’s streaming service Tidal.

The rapper visited the island last week, traveling to various communities throughout the Kingston area, and dropping by the legendary Tuff Gong studio.
