Dalton Harris has sought to address critics calling him weak on social media.

“Finally. Stop saying I am weak like a girl. Women aren’t weak. Nor am I. I am a man. Vulnerability is strength and not many “men” possess it,” The Jamaican singer wrote on Twitter.

Harris revealed on Thursday that he contemplated taking his life, however had a change of heart after talking with God and he his new healing and free after ending a relationship.

“I had a deep realization last night. The only reason I didn’t take my life today (Thursday) is because I spoke with GOD and I decided to make the biggest change I will ever make in my life. I want to live my life not running away from pain inflicted on me@or the pain I inflict on anyone,” Harris wrote on Twitter.

“Today (Thursday) I am deciding to change my life. And live better. And sharing this is the first step because it was hard,” he shared.

“I want to be happy and truly smile. I ended a relationship that was the beat (best) thing that happened to me and that taught me so many things. Taught me that I am valuable and that I matter and deserve love. Thank you Ayose. I will love you forever,” he said in a follow-up Tweet.

“I want to experience live and be honest with myself and everyone around me in my intentions. Not hide or mask feelings and or flaws. Not judge myself. Not abuse myself and or anyone else. I am thankful for my family and everyone who is around me.”

The tweets had received numerous reactions and comments from his supporters, who have for the most part offered him words of encouragement and support.

However, several individuals, some of whom were mostly Jamaicans, lambasted Harris for sharing his experience, suggesting that he was doing so for attention.

In response, the UK X Factor winner continued to address his critics in a series of tweets.

“For the ppl (people) thinking someone sharing their experience with suicide n (and) choosing to fight n (and) live is abt (about) attention, it’s sad that we hv (have) become so heartless and into social media that we can continue to destroy someone already destroyed,” Harris stated.

“But I will use my life as a lesson. For others,” he continued.

The 26-year-old entertainer thanked those persons who had offered him support while he faced his difficulties, while urging persons facing their own struggles to “just fight.”

“To those that sent their well wishes, thank you for everything. And to those that struggle, Just fight. Even in your lowest moment. Work on yourself takes a lifetime. Just stick around as long as you can and I am here to help as best I can,” he tweeted.

Dalton Harris also called out those who have repeatedly attacked his sexuality.

“And lastly to those that are still attacking my sexuality, My privacy is my business and whoever enters my bedroom will get there because of how I feel about them, any of the other physical checkpoints I should meet to make anyone accept me. My life is mine to live,” he stated, adding “I am who I am” before posting a photo of the pansexual pride flag.

Pansexuality is sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others.

Pansexuality may be considered a sexual orientation in its own right or a branch of bisexuality, to indicate an alternative sexual identity. Because pansexual people are open to relationships with people who do not identify as strictly men or women, and pansexuality therefore rejects the gender binary, it is often considered a more inclusive term than bisexual. The extent to which the term bisexual is inclusive when compared with the term pansexual is debated within the LGBT community, especially the bisexual community.
