Cruise Lines Head To The Caribbean To Rescue Hurricane Victims

Royal Caribbean and Norwegian cruises have announced that they’re sending empty ships to rescue stranded tourists and deliver supplies to Caribbean islands affected by Hurricane Irma and Jose.

Royal Caribbean reportedly has four ships ready for relief efforts in Puerto Rico, St. Maarten and Cuba. The ships are fully stocked and staffed but are sailing empty due to cancellations caused by the hurricane.

Meanwhile, Norwegian’s Norwegian Sky is expected to travel to the the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Thomas. According to reports, the company expects to fill the ship with its maximum capacity of 2,000 passengers, though the St. Thomas government, who is organizing the mission, will determine which passengers get on board.
