Chinese businesswoman arrested for “fake rum” Manchester

A Chinese businesswoman was arrested after nearly 200 bottles of counterfeit rum was seized at her establishment in Manchester on Wednesday.

Cops have charged 29-year-old Jinru Huang, a Chinese National, after raiding her establishment on Manchester Road.

She has been charged with Unauthorized Use of Trademark and Illegal Possession of Excisable Goods.

Investigators say 198 bottles of counterfeit rum was seized during a special operation in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Huang is set to appear in court on August 31, she has also been offered bail in the sum of $250,000.
