Charly Black Makes Donation To Charlton Primary School

Charly Black is going his part in giving back to his community.

The international recording artiste recently donated $200,000 JMD to the Charlton Primary School in St Ann.

Charly Black who has been having a successful year which saw him earning a gold plaque by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling more than 500,000 units in the US for his hit single Gyal Yuh A Party Animal, says he saw it fit to help those most in need.

According to Charly Black, the donation came from funds collected from an event he hosted in the Charlton community last November. “Many promoters over the years use the location as a venue, and they never did nothing. I am from Trelawny, but most of the people dem from that community know me from Bass Odyssey days. Dem always show me love, and so I try to give back to them as best as I can,” he said.

The artiste is hoping that come next year, he will be able to make a bigger donation, depending on the support the event gets at the end of this year.

“We’re hoping that with the next staging of the event, we can maximise our potential and try to see if we can give them at least three computers. We want to do more, and we’re going to do more. The event is in the community, so it’s best we give back to the community,” he said.
