Buju Banton’s son Jahazeil Myrie says he is now going by the name, Jahazeil.
The Up-and-coming recording artiste says he has decided to drop his Myrie last name as he continues his musical journey.
“A Fresh Start,” Jahazeil called the move to distance himself the Myrie name. “I’ve now Re-Introduced myself as Jahazeil. Jahazeil will not be using the Myrie name any more on any further releases nor any branding,” he wrote on Instagram.

In a follow-up post on Twitter, the Grammy-winning artiste’s son confirmed that he was no longer around his father, which seemingly hinted at the reason for his name change.
“No im not around my father no more but my last nm[name] is still there for my music,” he wrote.
In another tweet Jahazeil hinted that he moved to a new house, citing that “Being around a narcissists make you realize you don’t want to be nothing like them.”
