Buju Banton Wins 2020 Jamaica Festival Song Competition With “I am a Jamaican”

Buju Banton is the winner of the 2020 Jamaica Festival Song Competition.

The Grammy-winning entertainer won the competition on Sunday, July 26 with his “I am a Jamaican” entry.

Buju Banton emerged the winner from a field of 10 finalists and was awarded a whopping JMD $3 million prize. The Buried Alive singer says he will be donating his prize to the Sunbeam Boys’ Home in St. Catherine.

The 2020 Jamaica Festival Song Competition saw 250 entrants which included Nazzleman and Freddie McGregor. Papa Michigan came in second with “Jamaica Dance”, Sakina Deer’s “We are Jamaica” secured the third spot.
