A Buju Banton and Kanye West collaboration is set to be released soon.

News of a collaboration with the Grammy-winning artistes started circulating on social media over the weekend after West uploaded a photo with Buju Banton.

The American rapper, record producer, and fashion designer, arrived in Jamaica on a private jet on Friday morning (September 18), and his first stop was at Banton’s Gargamel Music Studio.”

“GREATNESS IN THE MAKING,” Yeezy captioned the photo of the two on Twitter.

Veteran music producer and Buju Banton’s manager, Donovan Germain, said, after landing, West paid a courtesy call on the reggae singer at his Studio.

“Kanye and his friends just came to Jamaica to chill for a couple of days. And, on his way down to the hotel, he just stopped and hailed Buju. Nothing more than that,” Germain told Jamaica Observer.

Germain also confirmed that a collaboration Buju Banton and Kanye West was indeed on the cards, “Buju did a song with him earlier in the year. It hasn’t come out yet. But, they have been in dialogue,” he added.

Kanye West left Jamaica on Sunday. American Rapper Saint Jhn was also in studio with him and Buju Banton on Friday.

Last year October, West travelled to Jamaica with his and his Sunday Service group for a pop up concert held at Emancipation Park.

The rapper-turned-politician and his 15-member band dubbed the concert, a gift to Jamaicans, it was Sunday Service’s first and only appearance in the Caribbean.
