Buju Banton Blast Government Over Plans To Grant COVID-19 Vaccine Makers Legal Immunity

Buju Banton has blasted the Jamaican government over plans to grant COVID-19 vaccine makers legal immunity.

Earlier this week the Reggae superstar took to Instagram to call out the government on its plans.

“So the love for this nation and its people soooo great. They will allow there friends to kill you and it’s perfectly ok#honest # Jamaica land they love # not the people,” Buju wrote.

Buju’s outburst stems from a recent announcement made by the Ministry of Health revealing that the country will be required to put laws and regulations in place to “indemnify the manufacturer for product liability claims associated with the use and administration of that vaccine”.

Essentially, what the legal framework will do is protect the pharmaceutical companies from potential lawsuits.

The “Buried Alive” singer was one of several Jamaican superstar’s to call out the government’s proposed actions. Others included, Spragga Benz, Kabaka Pyramid, and Mr. Lexx.

In recent months Buju has caught some flack for his comments on the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it seems fans are in support of the singer’s statements this time as many offered their support on Instagram.

“Them and them trickstem.. jah open his people’s eyes please 🙏🏿,” one fan proclaimed, while another said, “Wow! Not taking that vaccine.”

Similar sentiments were also echoed by Dancehall veteran Spragga Benz. “Any how dem make it mandatory then we know what fi gwaan💯,” he declared.
