Bounty Killer Blasts Government Over Failed Miss Lou Petition

Dancehall icon Bounty Killer recently took to social media to blast the Jamaican government and the opposition over a recent failed petition for late Miss Lou.

Earlier this month a petition urging the Government to make folklorist Louise ‘Miss Lou’ Bennett Coverley an official national icon, fell well short of its 15,000 signature target as it has received little support from the public.

However according to the ‘War Lord,’ Miss Lou shouldn’t need a petition to get recognition for the outstanding work she did for Jamaica.

Come on Jamaica ?? seriously?,” Killer wrote.

“Sustainable Economy, better Homes better Roads. Better media needed but unfortunately I expect it everyone needs a good laugh. But we nah stoop to them levels,” he added.

The petition was launched by social commentator Kevin O’Brien Chang on Jamaica House’s website on May 12 and received a little over 1000 signatures. The petition closed on September 7, ironically Miss Lou’s birthday.
