Beenie Man addresses allegations made by Mr. Vegas on Drake not paying him for sampling his Dancehall classic “Tear off Mi Garment”.

Mr. Vegas took to social media last month to release a video blasting the Canadian rapper for sampling dancehall songs on his recent “Views” album but not giving the artistes credit.

Drake’s single “Controlla” sampled Beenie’s classic “Tear Off Mi Garment” but the deejay was not credited on the album. Beenie Man stated that he has no issue with not being given credit because he was paid for the sample and he already has rights to the song since he is the original writer.

The “Girls Dem Sugar” deejay agreed that even though Vegas has a point, artistes have sampled the Dancehall deejay now turned Gospel artiste numerous times but he (Vegas) has never felt the need to speak on the issue until now.

Beenie Man added that he wasn’t the only one who was compensated for the sample – Andrew Thomas and Tony Kelly, the producers of the rhythm were also rewarded.
