Barrington Levy

The Tropixs (Kingston, Jamaica) – Barrington Levy’s son has dispelled rumours that his father recently suffered a stroke.

Fans were left concerned after rumours recently emerged on social media that veteran Reggae superstar Barrington Levy had suffered a stroke and not in the best of health.

However, these rumours have been quickly rubbished by the entertainer’s son Nerro Levy, who is a disc jock at Suncity Radio in Portmore, reassuring fans that his father remains healthy.

“I can’t disclose any information as it relates to that because I don’t know of that rumor. I don’t know of anything like that. I just talked to him and he is in good health. As far as I know, nothing like that is true,” Nerro said.

This is not the first time that rumours have emerged about the Reggae superstar’s health as speculation grew wildly in 2018 after he announced in a viral video that he was suffering from a “Virus.”

“Give thanks to god give thanks to health give thanks to world peace give thanks to the love you all give me but I have the (VIRUS)” Levy captioned the video.

The announcement seemed to spark many allegations, including that the entertainer was suffering from HIV/AIDS. However, these allegations were soon proven to be false after Levy comically announced his disease was “Love,” to promote his new single of the same name.

Barrington Levy is one of the most renown Dancehall/Reggae artistes of all time, wwith a signature sound that has remained a part of Dancehall culture to this day. Some of his biggest hits include “Too Experienced,” “21 Girls Salute,” “Under Mi Sensi,” and the international crossover “Bad Boys Anthem” with rapper Shyne.
