Pop singer Ariana Grande is being sued over her 2015 hit “One Last Time.”
A lawsuit was filed by lawyers representing Alex Greggs, claiming that the pop superstar had copied a 2012 single he wrote for singer Skye Stevens titled “Takes All Night” on her 2015 hit “One Last Time.”
According to Greggs “the similarity between ‘Takes All Night’ and ‘One Last Time’ is so striking that it is highly likely the works were not created independently of one another,” and that the “harmonic background remains the same in both songs for the entire sixteen measures of the chorus.”
The lawsuit also listed David Guetta, who wrote “One Last Time,” and also Universal Music Group and Republic Records and is reportedly seeking $150,000 per each infringement.
