Prime Minister Andrew Holness is a huge fan of hit TV show Power and recently met up with one of its stars, Michael Rainey Jr.
Earlier this week Holness met up with one of the show’s leading actors, Michael Rainey Jr, who plays Tariq on the hit Starz drama during a visit to New York.
During the exchange, the Prime Minister revealed that he is actually a huge fan of the show, with his favourite character being Naturi Naughton’s Tasha, as “she does everything with her children in mind.”
Holness also disclosed that he also likes Raina a lot “because she loved her brother and tried to protect him, which cost her her life.”
Rainey Jr, who is of Jamaican parentage, got a chance to meet the Prime Minister while at the Jamaican Consulate in New York following Holness’ appearance at the 73rd United Nations General Assembly this week.

Although he admittedly does not get to keep up with the show as he would like due to national duties the Prime Minister did show that he is quite up to date by captioning his photo with the actor “Did Angela really die? You can tell me.”
Holness further detailed the interaction with the young star on Instagram saying “It was a pleasure to meet Michael Rainey Jr last night at the Jamaican Consulate. I tried to squeeze some season 6 info from him but he did not budge.”
In recent months Rainey Jr has declared his love for the island, after making several trips to connect with his family roots and has even made an application to become an official Jamaican citizen.
