Alkaline once again leads in nominations for the Your View Awards (YVAs), formerly known as Youth View Awards.
The Vendetta deejay received seven nods in categories including: Favourite Local Artiste (Male), Favourite Caribbean Artiste; Favourite Dancehall Artiste; Hot Summer Song Red Eyes and Favourite Local Chart-Topping Song.
Last year, Alkaline secured 10 nods in nine categories but failed to win any, however with the snub of his longtime rival Vybz Kartel, the “Badness It Name” deejay now has better chances, according to Dancehall insiders.

Meanwhile, newly crowned “Queen of Dancehall” Spice secured six nods, while Dancehall superstars Popcaan and Aidonia are tied with five each.
Media vixen turn recording artist Yanique Curvy Diva copped four nominations. While Ding Dong, Chronixx, and soca stars Machel Montano and Nailah Blackman all received three nods. The rebranded Your View Awards (YVAs) is set for February 24 at National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew, Jamaica.
