Alicia Keys has dropped a Reggae remix for her latest single “Underdog” featuring Chronixx and Protoje.
Earlier this week Alicia Keys took to Instagram to post a video of herself in-studio with the two Reggae stars. In the clip, Alicia can be seen warmly greeting Chronixx, while admitting she has been waiting to collaborate for some time.
“It’s dope to be on a track with Alicia Keys. She’s a legend. I grew up listening to her music. It was crazy,” Protoje told The Gleaner.
According to Protoje, he got the call to be featured on the while working on music in his studio. “[One] Thursday night, me and Chronixx in a session and me get a call seh if me can jump pon a plane [at] 6 a.m. Mi just left studio, go pon a plane, reach a LA, do the song and fly come back home in like, three days. It was crazy,” he said.
The track is produced by P2J and Izy Beats, who is also responsible for Koffee’s smash hit “Toast.”
The Reggae superstar says the track is only the tip of the iceberg as he has a lot more music in the pipelines.
Fans also got excited over the weekend after the “Who Knows” singer was spotted in the studio with Popcaan. Speculation is rife that the two are set to collaborate after Protoje was during Popcaan’s Instagram Live with Drake.
