The Westmoreland police say the parish has recorded 21 murders since the start of 2018 following the discovery of the body of a man with bullet wounds to his head in the parish on Saturday morning.

According to police reports, the body of 35-year-old labourer, Rohan Eyesst, was discovered by residents in a section of Little London community at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Police reports indicate that the man’s body was found in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to the head.

His body was removed to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital, where doctors pronounced Eyesst dead.

Cops say Eyesst’s death marks the 21st murder in the parish, an alarming statistic compared to the total figures for the rest of the island.
