The highly anticipated appeal hearing for dancehall superstar, Vybz Kartel, is set to begin in the Court of Appeal tomorrow, Monday July 9 at 9:00 am.
The ‘Fever’ deejay’s legal team comprises top-flight attorneys Tom Tavares-Finson, Valerie Neita Robertson, and Bert Samuels.
Vybz Kartel, whose given name Adidja Palmer, and his co-accused Campbell, Kahira St Jones, and Andre St John, were convicted in 2014 for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams and given life sentences.

According to Kartel’s attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson they seek to challenge the conviction on several grounds, including much of the evidence that was deemed as admissible during the landmark trial.
Sources close to the Gaza camp revealed that the “Worl’ Boss” is remaining cautiously optimistic as he is quite aware that the “system is against him.”
Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer was convicted along with three other men including Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, and André St John, while a fifth man Shane Williams was freed.
