Dancehall and Reggae artistes are speaking out against 64-year-old Moravian Minister Rupert Clarke who is charged for sexually abusing a 15-year-old.

On Sunday Protoje took to social media to ‘Check The Situation,’ “Why is the Church silent when their Pastors are accused of abusing young girls. But they make noise over art depicting dancehall on a phone book.” He wrote.

Dancehall artiste Demarco also took to social media to share one of his previously recorded singles bashing the incident, “This song was recorded over 2 years ago and its sad it still applies to whats happening in our society today.” He added, “The 2017 telephone directory had a dancehall themed cover and members of the church community went into a frenzy saying it was lewd and vulgar. Now that one of your members was caught with an underaged girl you’ve all gone dumb and blind ?The congregation wept because their leader was in jail but who’s crying for the 15 yr old ?This is hypocrasy at the highest level from those ordained to lead us morally .we must speak up and protect our children and the justice system needs to set an example!!!!.”

On Monday Vybz Kartel also took to Twitter to address the topic, “F**k the church hypocrites..bay bwoy pickney n gyal pickney di pastor dem a abuse sexually.” he wrote.
