Popcaan’s fallout with the Gaza camp and his former mentor, Vybz Kartel, continues to make headlines.

Dancehall fans were left somewhat surprised earlier this year after an apparent feud emerged between Popcaan and several members of the Gaza camp, including his former mentor Vybz Kartel.

The “Up Forever” deejay confirmed rumours of a rift during a BBC 1 Xtra interview claiming that his former mentor “hates” him, following the release of a diss track by former affiliate Shawn Storm titled “No Frauds”.

According to reports, the source of fallout seems to stem from the fact that Popcaan did not visit or contact his former mentor following his 2011 arrest. In fact sources claim Popcaan didn’t attempt to contact the “Worl Boss” for an entire year.

One source close to the gaza camp claims that when Popcaan did eventually try to visit the “Worl Boss” it was already too late, as the deejay already felt betrayed by his young protege and flatly denied his request.

According to the source, the “Highest Level” deejay believes his incarceration has showed him the loyalty of many of his afflliates, as most of them deserted him in his darkest hour.

Vybz Kartel is currently awaiting his Feburary 2018 appeal trial to begin to attempt to overturn his life sentence for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
