Vybz Kartel Prison

An attorney representing Vybz Kartel’s co-accused has charged that law enforcement authorities were extremely “loose, lax and inept” with their investigations.

Robert Fletcher, who is representing Kahira Jones, made the allegations during his closing arguments on Thursday in the Court Of Appeal.

According to Fletcher, the poor investigations of law enforcement officials coupled with evidence tampering left prosecutors with no choice but to “roll out a case with deep and abiding contamination.”

This he argues led presiding Judge Lennox Campbell down a path of repeated mismanagement throughout the trial.
