Vanessa Bling has addressed recent rumours claiming that she could be switching to Gospel music in the near future.

The “Independent Ladies” singer recently addressed growing speculation that she could be making the big switch to Gospel music after taking a long hiatus from the music scene and returning with a spiritually themed roots single “Freedom.”

According to the former Gaza artiste, although she was raised in a Christian home and taught Christian principles she is not in the frame of mind to make a transition to Gospel music anytime soon.

She claims the song, though spiritual in nature, was done to simply to share her journey with fans who may be going through similar situations, and give them an insight into personal struggles.

Fans have begun theorizing the singer’s next move after she re-emerged from a nearly four-year hiatus after scoring several top hits including “Future Guarantee,” “Everything Fi Hold Him” and “My Man.”

Vanessa Bling, however, revealed that she takes inspiration from many sources, not just from the secular world.

“Whatever it is that inspires me on any given day, that is what I am going to write about because art is a representation of life,” she said. “So, if God is inspiring any artiste, that artiste should be free to express it through his or her music, what is moving them to write spiritual music.”

Vanessa Bling previously released a Gospel-themed track, ‘Have Mercy On Me Lord’, back in 2014 following her arrest with former mentor Vybz Kartel for allegedly trying to pervert the course of justice.
