Rapper Troy Ave has been released from prison after his $500,000 bail bond was paid, according to the New York Daily News.

The Brooklyn rapper was released from Riker’s Island after his mother reportedly paid his half a million dollar bail bond. The terms of his release dictate that he should not leave the state of New York and adhere to a strict 11pm curfew. Additionally the rapper has been barred from going anywhere near concerts, bars, arenas and other music venues.

Troy Ave is charged with attempted murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, in relation to a May 25 shooting incident at Irving Plaza, which left three persons injured and resulted in the death of his friend Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.

According to attorneys representing Ave, their client was not the one to fatally shoot McPhatter, but rather he wrestled the gun away from the shooter and shot back in self-defense.

The rapper was also shot in the leg on the night of the shooting.
