Fast-rising deejay Squash is calling for the release of Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel.

The 6ix Boss dropped a new single earlier this week titled “Great” produced by Shab Don Records and Hemton Music in which he also sent out a message to inmates in Jamaica.

“Mi feel great mi feel great / Thugs dem a horizon unu gwan hold the faith / Freeport same way… unu gwan hold the faith  / Thugs dem a GP its gonna be a better day / Tamarind farm just gwan hold it same way / Spanish gwan hold dem unu know how the 6ix stay… 6ix Free Vybz Kartel,” Squash sings in the introduction.

Squash, whose given name is Andre Whittaker, was released from police custody last month after being detained for six months under the Emergency Powers Act.

Known for hits such as; Lavish, Trending, Money Fever and Allergy, Squash was taken into custody on August 8 during the state of emergency in St James.

While the police listed the entertainer as a person of interest and kept him in custody for months, he always maintained his lack of involvement in any criminal activity.
