The ruling brought an end to a prolonged inquest into the controversial shooting death of constable Williams. The cop was allegedly shot by his colleague’s for reportedly running from the St Ann police station where he was being processed in relation to a illegal gun discharge.
The implication of Constable Shane Francis may be seen as somewhat redundant, as was he himself was shot and killed in a shooting incident back in April by a licensed firearm holder at a party in White River, St Ann.
Two other cops were also exonerated by the Coroner’s Court July 5 ruling.
Sources say a civil suit is expected to follow, the family of the late constable will reportedly seek compensation for Williams’ death.
