As the new saying goes, “Jamaica is not a real place!”

On Tuesday, Jamaican-American rapper and Reality TV show star, Safaree Samuels went viral after he uploaded a video from Dream Weekend 2019 in Negril, Jamaica.

In the clip shared to Safaree’s Instagram story, he can be heard speaking to a local while leaving the Celebrity Playground event held at Wavz Beach.

Seconds into the video, the man asked the Love and Hip Hop: New York star for money citing that, “nothing nuh gwan fi mi,” to which Safaree responded saying, “Big man thing mi nuh have nothing pan mi dawg.”

Shortly after the video was reposted online, several Jamaicans chimed in with mixed reactions. While some said Safaree should’ve given the man a handout, others blasted the culture of many locals begging foreigners money.

The debate got so heated that Safaree had to step in and shared what happened, “I dont walk wit cash. Unless a man say he use cash app I Dont know what else to say. So i can’t give what i don’t have. We all working ppl. Straitttt,” he said.
