The police high command has expressed concerns over a slang popularized by Dancehall artiste Rygin King.

According to cops, there is concerning a new trend within inner-city communities among young adults who are using a set of slangs to praise individuals who display dark and deviant behaviors.

They say the troubled youths are referring to themselves as “fully dunce” and “dunce thugs,” as a means of declaring their dark and ignorant state of mind, willing to resort to violence in any situation.

The slang, which is popularized by Montego-bay based Dancehall superstar Rygin King has been used in a number of his songs including “Evil Dweller,” “Fully Evil,” and “Dunce Move.”

“It is a trend we see popping up and being displayed on social media. Individuals who are deemed members of the younger generation, using slang to praise those individuals who openly disclose that they are illiterate,” said a senior officer from the St Andrew South Police Division.

“Dark like midnight, not open to reason, and most of all, they are claiming that they are fully dunce,” said the officer.

According to the cop, the slang may seem harmless at first glance but if allowed to take root it can help create a new generation of hardened criminals who act without any form of morality.

He warned that countermeasures need to taken quickly in order to reach these troubled youths. He claims they need to be educated on the dangers of dropping out of school and illiteracy.

Although the cop did not refer to the “Tuff” deejay by name he did go on to criticise entertainers who continually promote the slang as it encourages criminality among young adults.
