Rihanna reportedly declined an offer to perform at the Super Bowl LIII halftime show.

According to US Weekly, the Bajan pop star’s decision is in support of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has not played in the league since 2017. He is currently embroiled in a legal battle against the NFL, which he believes is colluding against him due to his kneeling protests during the national anthem.

“The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” sources told the publication. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”
