Nineteen-year-old popular dancer ‘Dog Rice’ has died.
Dog Rice, whose given name is Samantha Herle, passed away last week as a result of injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle collision along the Dolphin Cove main road.
On Saturday, November 4th about 6:25 a.m., Herle was travelling in a motorcar from Ocho Rios to St Ann’s Bay which reportedly lost control on the highway and slammed into an embankment.
Herle was thrown from the vehicle and she sustained multiple injuries. The dancer was assisted to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Dancehall deejay, Ganggoolie confirmed Dog Rice’s tragic death on social media.
“This very sad, I got the bad news that she passed off,” he said. “Condolences geso out to family and friends. If a selector go dance and no talk about Dog Rice, dem nah gwaan wid nothing. From St Ann, Trelawny back dah side deh, ah she govern dah side deh. She was going to buss big, she lock down social media.”
